Beasley to lead Gaston SD Print E-mail

David W. Beasley will leave his post as interim superintendent of Arlington School District to take the top job in the Gaston School District.

He was chosen from a field of 11 applicants. Beasley, 60, will replace Gaston's interim superintendent Mike Durbin, who also was the junior and senior high school principal.

Beasley holds a bachelor's from the University of Montana in history and poltiical science, a master's degree in counseling from Western Oregon State College, and received his principal and superintendent licenses from the University of Oregon.

He taught in the Dayton Public Schools and was principal of The Dalles HIgh School and superintednet/principal of the Petersburg School District.

He will receive $48,000 per year for the half-time position, under a three-year contract.
