COSA Scholarship recipients announced Print E-mail

Each year, COSA awards twelve $1000 scholarships to students in member schools.  This year, there were over 260 applicants.  The results are as follows:

LG Wells Scholarships

  • Anna Royce – Roseburg High School
  • Whitney Helikson – Redmond High School
  • Ireli Hernandez – South Medford High School

Wilma Wells Scholarship

  • Krista Birkmaier – Baker High School

Joe Benninghoff Scholarship

  • Megan Collins – Monroe High School

David Putnam Scholarship

  • Jeffrey Boles – St. Helens High School

George Martin Scholarship

  • Jessica Hu – McKay High School

NWEA (Northwest Women in Educational Administration) Scholarships

  • Karryn Kimball – Newport High School
  • Kelly Coolen – North Bend High School

OASC (Oregon Association of Student Councils) Scholarships

  • Dan Cushing – Sherwood High School
  • Breanne Manley – Brookings Harbor High School

OALA (Oregon Association of Latino Administrators) Scholarship

  • Edgar Verdin – Tillamook High School

Special recognition goes to the COSA Scholarship Committee, some of whom have been involved over 20 years, for their work in selecting finalists.  The committee was chaired by COSA member Michael Ann McIlvenny, with the following members: Pete Craemer, Dick Hornaday, Judy Hampton, Cecil Kribs, Roberta Hutton, Adam Slaton, Suzanne Dalton and Terry Witter.
