Despite Oregon's stormy winter weather, the OASSA/OESPA Winter Conference will continue as scheduled through Wednesday, Director of Professional Development Colin Cameron announced today.

"The general session, the breakout sessions and the OESPA and OASSA board meetings will be held as planned Wednesday," Cameron said.  "Although the travel conditions have been a challenge for some, the conference has gone very well so far, and we expect a great day Wednesday, too."  The conference is being held at the beautiful new Salem Conference Center.

COSA Executive Director Kent Hunsaker and Government Relations Director Chuck Bennett, as well as a legislator or two, start the third day of the conference on Wednesday with a general session discussion of the legislature and school funding.  Breakout sessions include "Common Assessments, Uncommon Results" and "Beyond Hola and Por Favor, as well as sessions focusing on Response to Intervention, ELL and school violence.  The conference adjourns at 11:45 a.m.

Following the conference, the OASSA Executive Committee and the OASSA Board of Directors will meet from 12-2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
