When an Oregon superintendent wanted research on how Advanced Placement classes align with college admission criteria, he turned to Ask A REL. This free service, offered by the Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Northwest, provides prompt, customized answers to questions facing administrators and practitioners. Simply fill out a request form, and reference librarian Jennifer Klump will respond with links to articles and studies from authoritative sources.

Recent queries from Oregon educators include:

  • What are best practices on inclusion of special education students?
  • Are there benefits to a four-day school week?
  • What does the research say about effective strategies for math instruction of high-poverty elementary school students?

COSA is partnering with Education Northwest, which operates REL Northwest, to offer our members easy access to this service funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
