NWRESD's Anderson feted for 'Achievement of Excellence' Print E-mail

art-anderson.jpgNorthwest Regional ESD Director for School Improvement Art Anderson was honored at the OACOA/OASE Winter Conference at Salishan last week as the winner of the 2009 OACOA Achievement of Excellence Award.

Anderson has been a catalyst in developing and implementing the ODE Data Project and training district teams around the work of Dr. Doug Reeves.  He has worked with other curriculum directors across the state to help set up systems of accountability, and he and his staff have devoted themselves to training teams from across the state in data driven decision making, identifying priority standards and writing common formative assessments.

Anderson serves on the OACOA Executive Committee and served on COSA's Accountability Roundtable.

"Art is modest in his accomplishments, collaborative in his association with others, forthright in his vision and persistent in his leadership," wrote on of his nominators, Marta Turner.  "His leadership in the state and the region has been instrumental in establishing a unified goal of creating a system that supports academic success."

Anderson will also be honored at the 35th Annual COSA Seaside Conference in June.
