Spring regional CCSS trainings begin April 2 Print E-mail

A series of nine regional Common Core State Standards (CCSS) trainings begins April 2 and runs through May 17 at various locations throughout Oregon.

The series, which builds on regional CCSS trainings held last fall, will dig deeper into Common Core State Standards for math and English/language arts.  Featured speakers will be Penny Plavala (English/langauge arts) and Shannon McCaw (mathematics), with Mickey Garrison providing a special planning strand for administrators.

The series is a partnership of COSA, Oregon ASCD, the Oregon Department of Education, McGraw-Hill, and Insight School of Oregon.

The schedule of trainings is:

  • April 2 - Pendleton Convention Center
  • April 3 - Hood River Inn
  • April 4 - Kroc Center, Salem
  • April 5 - Linn County Expo Center, Albany
  • April 10 - Ramada Inn-Airport, Portland
  • April 13 - Marshfield High School, Coos Bay
  • April 16 - Lane ESD, Eugene (English/language arts only)
  • April 17 - Lane ESD, Eugene (Math only)
  • May 11 - Deschutes County Expo Center, Redmond
