Time to nominate colleagues for two OASE awards Print E-mail

Each year, OASE members are recognized for two awards: Superintendent of the Year and Excellence in Curriculum Leadership.  Nominations are now open for both awards.

To be eligible for the Superintendent of the Year Award, the nominee must be an active superintendent, with plans to continue in the position; it is not intended to recognize a retiree.  Additionally, that person should have a current membership with OASE and AASA.  To encourage participation, candidates will complete all sections of the application, except the essay questions, for the first round of judging.  Once the winner is selected, that person will then complete the essay portion of the application.  With this procedure, it is possible for a colleague to complete the initial form.

Please follow these instructions and timelines:

  • Nominees (or colleagues on behalf of nominees) may access the 2011 application  on the AASA website: http://aasa.org/content.aspx?id=3404
  • The form may be downloaded, completed, then printed out.
  • Complete all sections but the essay questions (#1-5 on the form)
  • Mail to the COSA office (not AASA) by no later than Friday, October 1, 2010.

The  Excellence in Curriculum Leadership Award highlights a district that has implemented curriculum that has enhanced student achievement.  As with the Superintendent of the Year winner, this award is also presented at the OSBA Conference in November.  The instructions and timelines are as follows:

  • You may access the nomination form.
  • Completed nominations should be sent to the COSA office by no later than Friday, October 1.

Please direct any questionson either award to COSA staff member, Sara Nilles.
